He has held senior executive roles at major firms such as Phelps Dodge and Newmont, as well as with EMX Royalty Corp and Cupric Canyon Capital. As a former Head of the Geology and and Geological Engineering and Mining Engineering departments at the Colorado School of Mines, he remains committed to education in the field. Currently, Steve serves as Executive Chairman at Brooks & Nelson, where he utilizes his extensive experience to provide strategic guidance.
